The Comanche 2

After the engine rebuild by Johnston Aircraft Services the engine was reinstalled and the Comanche was almost ready to fly again.

The Comanche finally in the hanger at the Nevada City AirPark. On the flight from to Nevada County AirPark the Comanche developed an oil leak from the connectors on the oil cooler.

After considerable effort trying to eliminate this leak we finally decided that the threads in the oil cooler were bad and we replaced the oil cooler.

We also developed a problem with one of the magnetos which damaged the case so the engine again needed to be removed and disassembled so the case could be repaired.  At that time a cylinder was also rehoned because it was not breaking in properly.
